On Monday (June 17), all intercity trains operating across the country will be closed as per the decision of Bangladesh Railways. Only the Chittagong mail train running on the Dhaka-Chittagong route will run.
Recently Bangladesh Railway took this decision in their action plan on the occasion of Eid Yatra.
It is said in the decision that some mail express or special trains will be run on special arrangements on the day of Eid-ul-Azhar. However, no inter-city trains will operate.
When asked about this, the manager of Kamalapur Railway Station Mohammad Masud Sarwar told the media that all inter-city trains will be closed on the day of Eid. Only the Chittagong mail train will be kept running.
The Chittagong Mail Train runs from Chittagong Railway Station to Kamalapur Railway Station in Dhaka. The train connects Feni, Comilla, Brahmanbaria, Kishoreganj, Narsingdi and Gazipur districts on the route.
